PENTAX WG-1000 MAIN FEATURES

A solid, all-weather body for protection against dust and water

The PENTAX WG-1000 has a reliable all-weather housing that is waterproof (JIS Class 8) to a depth of 15 metres and can be operated continuously for up to one hour; it is dustproof (JIS Class 6) against dirt and stains and shockproof* even against falls from a height of up to two metres. Thanks to this robust construction, the WG-1000 can be used for a wide range of activities, even in harsh, demanding conditions, and even for underwater shooting. A special feature opens up further usage options.

 

Sharp, clear images  The WG-1000 features a back-illuminated CMOS image sensor with approximately 16.35 effective megapixels and outstanding light reception efficiency to deliver sharp, clear, high-resolution images.

 

 

4x optical zoom lens   Within its compact, lightweight body, it features a four-times optical zoom lens with a focal-length coverage from 4.9 mm to 19.6mm (equivalent to approx. 27mm to 108mm in the 35mm format) to accommodate a wide range of applications. When coupled with its Digital Zoom function, you can extend the zoom range by approximately 24 times.

 

 

Dependable protection against ethanol, sodium hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions Since the WG-1000 can be safely sterilized with solutions containing ethanol, sodium hypochlorite (approved as a disinfectant of food additives) or chlorine dioxide, you can use it at medical facilities and production lines.

Q: How is the performance of waterproof dustproof shockproof?
A: • This camera is provided with a waterproof dustproof design complying with JIS waterproof grade 8 and JIS dustproof grade 6 (equivalent to IP68).
• The camera satisfies the PENTAX drop test (1.6m height onto a 5cm thick plywood surface) complying with MIL-Standard 810F Method 516.5-Shock testing. 
• The camera satisfies the PENTAX test for the waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof performance, but this does not guarantee it will remain free of trouble or damages. 
• Waterproof performance is not guaranteed if the camera is exposed to impact such as being dropped or hit.
*The camera s accessories are not waterproof.

Q: Is there a function to reduce camera shake?
A: Yes, the camera is equipped with an electronic image stabilization function in still image mode. The camera is not equipped with an image stabilization function in movie mode.

Q: What is the recording format?
A: Still image: JPEG (Exif 2.3 ), DCF 2.0 Video: MOV (video: H.264, linear PCM monaural audio)

Q: Is there a waterproof case (under water housing) that can be used in a deeper place? A: There is no scheduled at the moment.

Q: What types of SD memory cards can be used?
A: SD cards, SDHC cards, SDXC cards.
*We do not guarantee the operation of memory cards used through the adapter, and we do not recommend the use of micro-SD cards. Please use SD, SDHC, or SDXC cards.
*The camera has a built-in memory. (Capacity: approx. 29 MB)

Q: Can the D-LI96 rechargeable lithium-ion battery be charged in the camera body?
A: Use the USB power adapter and USB cable included with the product to charge the battery from a power outlet (wiring plug-in connector).

Q: Is there an AC adapter for the camera?
A: There is no AC adapter kit available for the WG-1000.

Q: Can this camera be used as a webcam?
A: No.

Q: Does the camera come with application software?
A: No.
